Kia unveils its all-new 2016 Sorento in Sri Lanka
View(s):Kia Motors (Lanka) has teamed up with three Sri Lankan cricketing giants to launch the all-new 2016 Kia Sorento SUV in Colombo recently.
Driven on to a stage in the packed ‘Oak Room’ at the Cinnamon Grand, Sri Lanka’s ace cricketers , Kumar Sangakkara, Muttiah Muralitharan and Mahela Jayawardena received the keys to their new Sorento vehicles as part of the unveiling of the re-engineered, wider and longer KiaSorento.
Already one of the most popular SUVs on Sri Lanka’s roads, Kia Sorento has introduced its 2016 Third Generation Sorento model in Sri Lanka.
Speaking at its ceremonial unveiling, Mahen Thambiah, Managing Director of Kia Motors (Lanka) said: “The Sorento has become an icon on our roads in just about 10 years. The re-designed new Sorento has a wider stance and longer wheelbase for more cabin space with available seating for up to seven”. Bred for adventure, the new Sorento’s All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system delivers a smooth drive even on rough roads, the Kia motors said adding that multiple engine options offer a choice of the 5,000-lb. towing capacity of the V6 AWD to the all-new 2.2-liter turbo engine that delivers high performance with fuel efficiency.
Kia Motors (Lanka), which has represented the Kia brand in Sri Lanka since 1996, was adjudged the ‘Most Improved’ distributor in the region at the 2014 Asia – Pacific Parts Conference of MOBIS – the spare parts division of the Kia-Hyundai Group, a media release issued by the company said.
