The fourth and final day’s play of the Sri Lanka ‘A’ and Pakistan ‘A’ 1st unofficial Test match at the R. Premadasa Stadium was washed out without a ball being bowled. Inclement weather on the previous day and in the morning of day four made play impossible which forced the umpires to call of the match at 2.00pm.

Meanwhile Kusal Perera put in another sterling batting performance as he continued his form when he cracked an unbeaten 119 in only 140 balls that included 15 boundaries and two sixes and in fact this was his third ton against the Pakistanis having cracked two tons in the first two ODI’s and a 87 in the third ODI.

Kusal along with Asela Gunaratne who remained unbeaten on 64 which had eight boundaries came to the rescue of the side when they were struggling on 115 for 5 with the pair being associated in an unbroken 198 runs for the sixth wicket for Sri Lanka A to end day three on 313 for 5 in reply to Pakistan A’s 401.
The two sides will play their second unofficial Test match at the Pallekele Stadium from May 13 to 16. - MSA
