In last week’s P1 photo caption story published under the heading “An English signature of a CB governor appears on new currency notes after over 26 years” , it was inadvertently stated that “An English signature of the then Governor Dr. Neville Karunatilake was in currency notes issued in 1988″.

The English signature in 1988 was of the then Finance Minister M. H. M. Naina Marikkar and not of Dr. Karunatilake. The error is regretted.
