Recently I came across a news item in the electronic media that a fresh circular will be issued probably in May or June with regard to the rectification of pension anomalies by the Director General of Pensions.

I also remember seeing another news item earlier where the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa promised that once it is done all anomalies will disappear.

However the former president’s solemn pledge relating to pension anomalies in the Mahinda Chintanaya was never fulfilled. As a result I believe many pre 2006 pensioners including myself didn’t vote for him.

Will the good governance a.k.a. Yahapalanaya rectify the anomalies suffered by the pre 2006 pensioners before they go another world?
