An evening with evergreen theatre songs
Punyasena Gunasinghe’s “Dhikthala Kaalagola” a drama which presented many popular songs to Sri Lankan theatre with music written by Charles Silva Gunasinghe will be staged on Saturday June 6 at 3.30 pm and 7. 00 pm at Lionel Wendt Colombo 7.
The cast consisted of Richard Maanamudali, Jayanath Bandara, Thushari Gunarathne, Isuru Weerasinghe, Upali Bandara, Upali Thiwanka Hewage, Saman Nishantha Gunasinghe, Ranjitha Ranaweera, Rohana Wijaya Sri and includes many other leading artistes.
Music and lyrics were by late arts guru Charles Silva Gunasinghe while music direction and production is done by Punyasena Gunasinghe. Mahendra Gunasinghe and Nandana Munasinghe will contribute towards the play with their drum music while costume design and lighting are by S.H. Sarath and Mihindu Madushanka respectively.
The play is organised by Jude Srimal and tickets are available at Lionel Wendt Theatre.
