Alleged fraud at Maligawa: FCID files report in court
View(s):The Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) has filed a report in the Kandy Magistrate’s court on the ongoing investigations into alleged fraudulent activities at the Dalada Maligawa.
The report includes probes into the alleged fraudulent sale of a land owned by the Dalada Maligawa, abuse of funds of the Maligawa to maintain the private car of the Diayawadana Nilame, the use of Maligawa vehicles for the last presidential election campaign and the loss of gold items belonging to the Maligawa.
The use of Maligawa funds for a private company known as PND of which the Diayawadana Nilame is a director is another allegation which is being investigated, the report said. (LB)
