Eighteen teams in pre-quarters
Eighteen teams have entered the pre-quarter final round of the inaugural All Island Girls Under 17 Cricket Tournament 2015 organised and conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association in collaboration with Sri Lanka Cricket.Thirty five teams participated in the first round were played in 11 groups in league basis with 25 overs a side.
Anula Vidyalaya Nugegoda, Bandaranayake MMV Mirigama, Devapathiraja College, Ratgama, D.S. Senanayake MMV Etiliwewa, St. Anthony’s Convent Kandy, Nugawela Central College, Holy Angles Balika Vidyalaya Kuliyapitiya, St. Joseph’s College Kegalle, Viharamahadevi Balika Vidyalaya Badulla, Vijayabahu Madya Vidyalaya Okkampitiya and Sri Siddhartha Madya Maha Vidyalaya Eppawela were qualified for the pre-quarters as leaders of their respective groups in the first round. They were joined by Gothami Vidyalaya Colombo, Uggalbada Madya Vidyalaya Kalutara, Dutugamunu National School Buttala, Gamini Madya Vidyalaya Ingiriya, Visakha Vidyalaya Bandarawela, Bandaranayake MMV Veyangoda, and Poramadulla MMV Rikilagaskada who will battle to enter the final round.
Winners of the following matches will qualify to play in the quarter-finals: (1) Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda vs. Holy Angles BMV, Kuliyapitiya, (2) Viharamahadevi BV Badulla vs. Sri Siddhartha MV Eppawela, (3) St. Anthonys Convent Kandy vs. Vijayabahu MV Okkampitiya (4) Uggalboda MV Kalutara vs. winners of the Bandaranayake MMV Veyangoda/Dutugamunu MV Badulla match, (5) Winners of Gamini MMV Ingiriya/Visaka Vidyalaya Bandarawela match vs.Poramadulla MMV Rikillagaskada, (6) Gothami Vidyalaya, Colombo vs.Nugawela MMV Nugawela, (7) Bandaranayake MMV Mirigama vs. D.S. Senanayake MMV Ethiliwewa, (8) St. Joseph’s College Kegalle vs. Devapathiraja College Rathgama. – LR
