Miss Earth to grace ‘Derana Goya Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Earth 2015’ pageant
View(s):The reigning Miss Earth (2014) Jamie Herrell of the Philippines will be in Sri Lanka for the final of the “Derana Goya Miss Sri Lanka for Miss 
Earth 2015″ pageant. Miss Earth arrives on Monday, June 1 and the final takes place on Wednesday, June 3 at Citrus Waskaduwa.
The 21-year-old Filipino-American actress, TV host, dancer and beauty queen was crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2014 on May 11, 2014 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines and won the world title on November 29th in Quezon City.
She will be here by a special invitation of TV Derana who are the franchise-holders and local organizers of the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Earth beauty pageant. Wijeya Newspapers Ltd is the exclusive print media partner of this year’s pageat.
Miss Earth is an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. Along with Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International, Miss Earth is one of the four largest beauty pageants in the world. The title holder dedicates her year to promote specific projects and address issues concerning the environment.
Miss Earth is the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other environmental organizations. The Miss Earth Foundation also works with the environmental departments and ministries of participating countries, various private sectors and corporations, as well as Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF).
