National Business Excellence Awards to kick off in November this year
View(s):The 12th consecutive National Business Excellence Awards (NBEA) organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will be held on 24th November this year at the Colombo Hilton. The official launch was held on Wednesday at the same venue.
NCCSL President Thilak Godamanna speaking at the event said that, last year 150 companies were registered for the awards and this year they are expecting the same number of companies to take part. This is one of the prestigious awards in the ountry compared to other award ceremonies organized by different other organisations since this is a national event, he added.
NBEA is a unique awards scheme as it evaluates the overall performance of a company and selects the best business in the country for awards. NBEA through the last 10 years has gained a high reputation and recognition amongst the business community due to its high standard and professionalism.
This is the pinnacle of the Sri Lankan business calendar and is truly worthy of being called a ‘National Event’. The rules and criteria for categorizing, marking and the process of evaluation have been modernised in keeping with the present contemporary business environment. The judging is done by a top panel of judges.
The evaluation model of NBEA comprises of excellence in leadership, corporate governance, capacity building, performance management, local and global market reach, corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability and business financial results.
The competition focusses on five categories such as extra-large, large, medium, small and micro and several industry sectors and offers awards which include many sector winners. Main awards are for overall excellence gold, silver and bronze. There will be 92 awards presented to the winners this year. (RM)
