Schneider Electric expands spanking new office

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation with operations in over 100 countries, expanded its state of the art office at Valiant Towers, Nawam Mawatha recently in a bid to step up its current commitments to Sri Lanka.

“We are committed to Sri Lanka and Schneider Electric will continue to offer integrated solutions across multiple market segments, including leadership positions in Utilities and Infrastructure, Industries and Machine Manufacturing, Commercial Buildings, Data Centers and Networks and in Residential Buildings to help customers make their environment safe, reliable, efficient, and sustainable,” Anil Chaudhary, Managing Director and Zone President of Schneider Electric responsible for the South Asian Region told the Business Times.

He added that in terms of their regional strategy, Sri Lanka is an important country for them to grow by geographic extension. “It’s also anticipated that a fast economic growth in Sri Lanka will happen and it is a mature market for the latest technology in terms of specialization in Energy Management, Automation and Smart City solutions,” he said.

In terms of the growth strategies, Mr. Chaudhary said that introducing the latest Schneider Electric products and solutions for energy management and automation applications delivered through a strong network of partners and locally supported by a strong Schneider Electric technical team, stands at the top of the list.

“Also we want to adapt the offer basket and business models to cater to the new and emerging segments of the market (e.g. lighting control, solar, etc and make the products available to every consumer across the island through the retail channels.”
Investing in training and development for both, the company’s own team and that of partners and clients is a key area for Schneider Electric in Sri Lanka as well, he added.

Amongst its medium term plans for Sri Lanka, Mr. Chaudhary said is the transfer of knowledge and technology to the market through trained technical team and partners, introducing the latest solutions in energy efficiency and smart city applications, explring collaboration and alliance opportunities for last mile delivery of solutions are top priority, according to him. “Also recruiting and developing human resources to add to the global pool of talent is important to us,” he added.
