Festival of Choirs at the Wendt
View(s):The Lionel Wendt will come alive with choirs that will sing unamplified on Thursday, June 25 at 7 p.m. The choirs participating would be Bishop’s College, Ladies’ College, Methodist College and St. Peter’s College. The choirs will perform a varied programme of music, ranging from popular music to sacred music. Each intermediate choir taking part would have 50 to 60 voices on stage.
Many choirs will be accompanied by virtuoso Neranjan de Silva on keyboards and for the final item of the show, all choirs will come together for a combined item, together with the De Lanerolle Brothers. Tickets priced at Rs 1000, 750 and 300 (balcony) are available at the Lionel Wendt. All proceeds will go to the Organ Fund of the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour.
