Daniel plunders century as Joes record 4th win
View(s):All rounder Jehan Daniel plundered nine sixes and a dozen boundaries to hit a 78 ball 125 as St Joseph’s trounced Tissa MV Kalutara by 150 runs in an All-Island Division I Under-17 game played at Kalutara.
Batting first the Josephians scored 298/9 in their 50 overs. Daniel was in devastating form as he tore into the host bowling attack with some lusty hitting. Together with Nipun Sumanasinghe who stroked a sedate 41, they added 165 runs for the fourth wicket as the visitors reached a formidable total. In reply Tissa MV struggled against a varied and accurate spin attack to fold up for just 145 runs in the 32 over. The win for the Josephians was the 4th in the first round and ensured their place in the second round.
