The Hatton National Bank hockey team completed a double this season when they overcame rivals of the trade Commercial Bank at 7-6 in the final of the Mercantile Division ‘A’ Knockout Tournament worked off at the Astro Turf in Reid Avenue.

In the first half HNB led 1-0 and the game was hotly contested as both teams were levelled at 2-all at fulltime. Upul Fernando netted both goals for HNB. Then it went for penalty shootout, where both teams were once again equalled by scoring four goals each. Finally the winning team was decided through a single series where HNB scored 1-0 to emerge champions. The winning goal was scored by Damith Bandara. HNB was led by Sandun Attygalle this season.
