Sunday at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. The duo scored 36 points to clinch the coveted Shakspeare Shield which is named after W. Shakespeare, former Chairman of Carsons who was elected to the Committee of the Royal Colombo Golf Club in 1908.

Scoring 33 points and coming a close second were runners-up T. Fernandopulle and Arjun Fernando of the DFCC Bank.

The format of the tournament was changed this year to make it a one-day event and thereby more exciting and attracting greater spectator involvement and interest. The Shakespeare Shield Golf Tournament goes on record as being the oldest corporate competition registered on the Board of RCGC Competitions.

This unique tournament brings together two prestigious institutions – the Carson Cumberbatch Group which sponsors it, and the Royal Colombo Golf Club, both of which have a rich history dating back over one hundred years. Chairman of Carson Cumberbatch Tilak de Zoysa gave away the awards.
