Sri Lanka Paralympic team gets Allianz support
View(s):A new sponsorship agreement signed by Allianz Lanka extends financial and technical support of the Sri Lanka Paralympic team for a further two years. President of the Sri Lanka Paralympic committee Brigadier Rajitha Ampemohotti signed the new agreement wth Allianz CEO Surekha Alles at the Allianz Lanka head office in Colombo recently.
The Sri Lanka Paralympic team comprises many soldiers who lost limbs while in active combat during the civil war. Their courage and experiences have helped boost the morale and performances of their civilian Paralympians, and it is expected that this teamwork will further contribute to building a better future for Paralympics in Sri Lanka.
The tie- up between the Sri Lanka Paralympic committee and Allianz Lanka Ltd Since 2013 is in line with the sponsorship Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the Allianz parent company – financial services conglomerate Allianz SE of Germany.
The company its sponsorship of the Sri Lanka Paralympic team to the Second Asian Paralympic games in South Korea last year, at which the Sri Lanka team won 14 medals including a gold medal at the South Korean games.
Brigadier Rajitha Ampemohotti expressed his gratitude to Allianz Insurance Lanka for its role in the Paralympic team’s recent success.
