Veteran filmmaker Chandran Rutnam’s newest play “May Wage Adarayak” (A love like this) is now being screened at Regal Colombo, Milano Kegalle, Donz Plaza Kalutara, NIT Kurunegala and Sky Lite Matara.

The film revolves around Roshan a young flight instructor at a reputed Aviation School in Colombo. He hails from an aristocratic Kandyan family whose father is a powerful Cabinet Minister. Serena is an Engineering student at the same aviation school and from an average middle class Christian family. Her father owns a bicycle shop. They fall in love and Roshan wishes to get his father’s approval but fails to do so. Instead the minister tries to help Roshan to be employed at Sri Lankan Airlines as a pilot. Becoming a pilot at Sri Lankan is a long cherished dream for Roshan too. However he refuses his father’s approach to it since he wants to do it solely on his own merits.

In spite of the ministers atrocities they finally marry and starts to live separately in a rented house. After some time when they consult a gynecologist over their inability to have a baby they come to know that Serena is seriously ill. Roshan admits her to a private hospital and provides her with all the medical affection and other necessities she needs. He does all the spending without requesting money from his powerful father and at one point he sells out his antique motor bike which he loved very much to meet the huge hospital bills.

However Serena unfortunately dies, despite Roshan’s generous attempts to save her. After her death, as he comes out of hospital he accidentally sees a joyful couple passing by on his antique motor bike.

The main role of Roshan and Serena are play by Anuj Ranasinghe, Dinakshie Priyasad Produced and directed by Chandran Rutnam, Nihara Jayatilleke, Jayantha Jayatillake, and Carl Fernando are associate producers.
