Shivantha Vivekanandan re-elected President for 14th time
View(s):Well known former Sports Star Shivantha Vivekanandan was re-elected uncontested as President of the Deaf School Past Pupils’ Association, the School for the Deaf, Ratmalana for the 14th successive year at the 66th Annual General Meeting held at the Stanley Hall, the School for the Deaf, Ratmalana recently.

A distinguished past pupil of the School for the Deaf, Ratmalana and Maryline High School, Kollupitiya, Vivekanandan was a good sportsman as well as a brilliant student who won many awards in sports, art and studies. He represented the Deaf Recreation Club, Rajagiriya at cricket, athletics and table tennis where he won a number of trophies and awards.
Vivekanandan who is an outstanding personality, is the current President, Sri Lanka Deaf Cricket Association. He played a major role in promoting the leather ball cricket in Division III organized by Sri Lanka cricket, as well as the foreign tours to play cricket matches in Deaf Asia Cricket Cup Tournaments. He is a Senior Vice Chairman, Deaf Asia Cricket Council and a Committee Member, Deaf International Cricket Council. During his post as President, Deaf School Past Pupils’ Association, the School for the Deaf, Ratmalana, he developed many projects for his alma mater. He was selected the Hony: life member of the Deaf School Past Pupils’ Association, Ratmalana in 2008.
