Wesley College “Walk of Grit 2015”
View(s):“Walk of Grit 2015”, the Wesley College annual walk will be held on Saturday 3 October 2015. Starting at the College premises in Borella at 3.00 pm, it will end at the CR&FC Grounds and Longdon Place, Colombo 07 in a grand fun fair and musical extravaganza.
This year’s walk – “Walk of Grit” – is expected to raise Rs. 12 million in aid of restoring the main campus in Borella which is over a century old and Wesley prides itself on. The raised funds will also help to improve and upgrade the playgrounds of both branch schools located at Havelock town and Katunayake.
The walk will culminate with a musical extravaganza themed “Concert of Grit” which will showcase Wesley’s past and present musicians live in concert. The ambience will be a mini hawker street style carnival with food and drinks.
A colourful parade is planned with floats and other interesting items to go with the theme. The organisers request all batches, past and present boys of Wesley, parents and teachers to rally round and make this event a spectacular and resounding success.The Principal appeals to old boys, Batch leaders, past sporting Captains, former leaders of Academic committees, parents and all connected to Wesley to come forward and passionately generate sponsorships towards the cause.
