‘Nalin and the  Marians’,  the popular  band  of musicians,  will be featured  for the first  time at a concert in  Moratuwa  singing the melodious  songs  popularised  by the late  Clarence  Wijewardena.

The concert is aptly titled ‘Marians Unplugged’ – A Tribute to Clarence- The legend.

Organised by Catamarans Sports Club of Moratuwa, popularly known as ‘Cats’ will come alive on Sunday, 20th September at the Sapphire Banquet Hall of Ramadia  (Ranmal) Hotel in Moratuwa at 7.00pm. Over  thirty  haunting  melodies   composed and originally sung by Clarence  Wijewardene will be recreated  by Nalin  and his band Marians, unplugged , during  this  two and half hour programme. The music  crazy   folk   of   Moratuwa  are poised  for  an absorbing   once-in-a-lifetime  treat  with  this   Marians  – Clarence  mix which itself  is a unique  concept .

This   event is being   organised by ‘the Cats’, Moratuwa in aid of its cricketing project. ‘Our primarily  target is to  raise much needed  funds  for   cricket  development  in our Moratuwa community’ said ‘Cats’ President Brian Coorey , who the former musician  too.

‘The vast amount  of music  lovers    in  and around Moratuwa  would   also  get   a rare opportunity  to witness a classy  quality  musical  event  which  will  no doubt  give  them full value  for  money’ he further remarked.

Tickets  for  the  concert priced at Rs.3000/-, 2000/- and  1000/- are now   on sale  at Steamboat   Restaurant, Multi Pharmacy-Rawathawatta , Wills   Studio Panadura  and Lakdam   Colour   lab, in Mount Lavinia .

‘All of Moratuwa  is bound  to throng to Ramadia  hotel – come  20th  September for this event ,  described  by the organisers  ‘Cats’ as the loveliest  musical happening in Moratuwa,  in recent years’ said Priya Peiris of La Bambas fame, a member of the concert committee.
