MCA ‘B’ div tourney from Sep 16
View(s):The MCA will commence their 2016 Season with the ‘B’ division 50-Over League Tournament on Wednesday, 16th September 2015.
The following 13 teams will be participating in two groups, in two stages:
Group ‘A’: DIMO, Hayleys Group RC ‘A’, John Keells Group ‘B’, Kanrich Finance ‘A’, Mobitel ‘A’ and Singer Sri Lanka PLC ‘A’.
Group ‘B : Commercial Bank ‘A’, EWIS, LB Finance ‘A’, MAS Silueta, MAS Linea Aqua, Raigam Marketing and Textured Jersey.
The round robin stage consisting 36 matches will go on till October 11.
At the completion of the league stage, the first four teams of each group will qualify for the Knock-out Quarter Finals.
The quarter-finals will be worked off on October 17 and 18; the Semi-Finals on October 21 (22nd Reserve day); Final on 24th October at the MCA Grounds. Venues: MCA, Surrey /Maggona, FTZ/Katunayake, Moratuwa Stadium, Navy / Welisara, Army /Panagoda, BRC, Thurstan, Moors, the R. Premadasa International Stadium and Army/Mattegoda.
All matches will be played with the ‘Grays of Cambridge’ red ball directly imported by the MCA from Pakistan and will under the supervision of a MCA appointed Match Referee. The Umpires will be assigned by the Association of Cricket Umpires; the scoring and the D&L method will be handled by Sri Lanka Scorers.
Last Season MAS Unichela ‘B’ beat MAS Linea Aqua by 52 runs in the Final played on 15th November 2014 at the MCA grounds.
The tournament opens on Wednesday September 16 with six matches. They are:
DIMO Vs. Mobitel at Surrey, Maggona, Hayleys ‘A’ Vs. Kanrich Finance at Colts, John Keells’B’ Vs. Singer ‘A’ at FTZ/Katunayake, Commercial Bank ‘A’ Vs. MAS Linea Aqua at Moratuwa Stadium, MAS Silueta Vs. LB Finance ‘A’ at Navy/Welisara and Textured Jersey Vs Raigam Marketing at Army /Panagoda. – LR
