‘Chakra’:An insight to male chauvinism
View(s):‘Chakra’ a teleplay exposing the human weaknesses that have been existing throughout generations and set as an historical tale will be telecast at 8.30 pm belt on ITN channel starting from Saturday September 28.
Directed by Sanjaya Nirmal, the teledrama stars Mahendra Perera, W. Jayasiri, Veena Jayakody, Sriyantha Mendis, Menaka Rajapaksa, Dulani Anuradha, G. R. Perera, Charith Abeysinghe, Hayacinth Wijeratne, Gayathri Rajapaksa and Manilda Perera.
Set the hill country in 1800s the story revolves around Naga, a black magician who is expertised in the art, his aide ‘Sona’ and Bandara, a strong young man. Walli, a beautiful damsel who belongs to the gipsy clan is surrounded by these three men.
‘Chakra’ exposes the underlying truth about weak human traits that are covered by culture, tradition and civilisation. On another phase the teledrama gives the audience an insight into the male chauvinistic society that was developed over history.
