MCA Premier League from Wednesday
View(s):The 23rd Singer-MCA Premier League 2016 will get off to a start on Wednesday with seven teams in the fray. They are MAS Intimates Unichela, the defending ‘League’ champions, MAS Active Trading, the defending the knockout champion, John Keells Group, HNB, Sampath, Seylan and Commercial Credit and Finance.
The tournament openers are: HNB Vs. Unichela at MCA; MAS Active Vs. Seylan Bank at NCC and Sampath Bank Vs. Commercial Credit at FTZ/Katunayake.
The tournament featuring 21 matches will be continued from September 27 to October 11. The 21 matches will be supervised by six MCA appointed match referees, namely Basil Perera, Upali Warnapura, Mahesh Jayasekera, K.H. Nandasena, Nalliah Devarajan and Pemlal Fernando.
The tournament will be conducted with all the paraphernalia used for a One Day International (ODI). At the completion of the round robin, the team emerging on top of the points table will be declared as the League winner. – LR
