Sayer guides Trinity to win over St. Anthony’s Wattala
View(s):A match haul of 10 for 87 by Trinity skipper Raveen Sayer ensured an easy nine wicket win for his team over St. Anthony’s Wattala at Asgiriya. The first day’s play was limited to a couple of hours, and with uncertain weather, Trinity had to do a lot of planning.
They rushed to 151 for 8 in only 14 overs to take a 55 run lead on the first innings. Then they overcame the slight resistance put up by the visitors who were bowled out once more for 122.The target of 58 was achieved in a mere five overs. In addition to Sayer’s heroics Nushan Weerasinghe had a good outing with quick-fire knocks of 25 and 28 not out, plus a couple of wickets. This is Trinity’s second win in three games.
