On Friday, Trinity’s formidable line-up rushed to a 300 plus score, with Dilan Jayalath (97), Sangeeth Shanmuganathan (69) and Hasitha Boyagoda (51) all making runs quickly and attractively.
Left arm pacie Rashmika Dilshan (5 for 44 and 2 for33) and Lahiru Kumara (3 for 20 and 2 for 25) then combined to shock the visitors with their pace. Shezad Amin and, to an extent, Tilan Vidyasekera were the only batsmen to come to terms with the varied attack. Trinity have now beaten St. Aloysius,St. Anthony’s Wattala and De Mazenod to make it four wins, after a rain-ruined opening game.

Galhitiyawa 9 for 37
Venuka Galhitiyawa, the Dharmaraja captain, had excellent match figures of nine for thirty seven but was stalled from pulling off a win over Dharmapala at Lake View.
The loss of around three hours play, all told, was crucial to the outcome.
Galhitiyawa grabbed 5 for 30 in the first innings to keep the visitors down to 158. In the second innings, he had the amazing analysis of 9-6-7-4.
Not to be outdone, Galhitiyawa’s opposite number Himasha Liyanage made a stroke-filled 98 (16 fours, 2 sixes) in Dharmapala’s first innings.
Rajan opener Ruchira Pupulewatte top scored for his team with 74.
