The rivalry that exists between a mongoose and a snake is well known. The animosity is so great that neither is willing to give into the other. But this has been changed due to the forthcoming AGM of a leading sports body. Two brothers who are heading the rivalry list have decided to end the rivalry so that they can come into power ousting the other candidate. What they plan is to get together and not to give the other candidate a chance of coming on top.

NO RECEIPTS TO PROVE TAX HAS BEEN PAID
The Baddegana football ground is to be taken over by the Town Council. The reason for this is that the tax for the grounds has not been paid over the years. The world organising body for the sport has pumped in nearly Sri Lankan Rupees 120 million to improve the grounds. It has now surfaced that a former boss is behind this move in order to create trouble to the present sports regime. Those who are in charge of the grounds say that they have paid the taxes, but have no receipts to prove it.

DUMBFOUNDED
The head of a leading sport where running and jumping plays a major role has been told that he cannot select teams on his own to take part in meets abroad. This head came into a major lambasting by members at a recent meeting to such an extent that he was dumbfounded. Adding fuel to the fire, those who had gone abroad had not brought home any noteworthy performances.

NOT SUITED
After a lot of wrangling the national coach for the sport where the ball is lodged over the net was appointed at a special meeting. But it so happens that he is not suited for the sport as he does not know much about the game. Now they are on the lookout for another coach. This time he may be from one from the armed forces or the police.

JUMPING THE BANDWAGON
Recently a wrestling team went to the USA to take part in a meet there and one wrestler jumped the bandwagon and decided to stay back. It is a well known fact that this wrestler was a close associate of the assistant coach of the team that went on tour. And in all probabilility he knew about this. Before the visas were issued the American Visa Bureau here had refused permission to enter the USA to several other wrestlers!
