Ceylinco Shriram promised payments, a sham? – Letter
View(s):I read with much interest the letter sent by a Kandy resident and published in the “Sunday Business Times” on October 4th titled “Ceylinco Shriram and Celestial Residencies”.
The aim of this letter is to remind the authorities and the public of the current status of this case in contrary to what the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka thinks is happening and what the “Watawala Committee of Chartered Accountants” has published. So pleae keep this thread alive (headlines in newspapers) so that the relevant authorities will be aware of what is happening.
Main points:
1. Supreme Court case number is SC (FR) 262/2009.
2. Ceylinco Shriram calls bids for Celestial Residencies.
3. Sell Ceylinco Tower to pay depositors: SC.
4) Sri Lanka, May 7 — The Supreme Court orders some Ceylinco group of companies to immediately.
4. Landmark Celestial Tower sold at a bargain to new owner.
5. Dr. Harsha de Silva lodges a complaint at the “Bribery or Corruption Investigation Commission” on this deal 6. I agree with the writer from Kandy about the lie about the so called payment plan.
7. Recently I phoned the “Watawala Committee of Chartered Accountants” which oversees the payment plan for an update and I was told it will take at least until 2020 for the completion of the payments. When I made the same inquiry in 2012 I was told that by 2014 all the payments will be completed.
It seems this is a moving target without any proper planning.
Without the intervention of the media outlets such as yourself, it is very difficult to get justice done in Sri Lanka. So please keep up the good work and publish this letter.
