Janakaraliya awakens love for theatre
View(s):Two Janakaraliya plays- Parakrama Niriella “Charandas” and “Hunuwataya”, which won many national awards including the best dramas in 2008 and 2014 respectively will be staged at the “Sudasuna” hall in Chilaw on October 21 and 22.
The play is organized by drama lovers who were encouraged by the experience of the extended mobile theatre festival organised by Janakaraliya and put up at the Ichchampitiya playgrounds in Chilaw from July 24 to August 14.
The encouraged fans had formed an organisation called “Salapura Nidahas Karaliya” whose initial intention is to collect funds to build a community theatre and a cultural centre.
Janakaraliya artistes Nishantha Kularatne, Sumudu Mallawarachchi, Dewran Sri Livera, Selvaraj Leelawathi, Sarath Banagala, Amila Dinesh Kumara, Inoka Lankapura, Palitha Abeylal, Arosha Tharangani, Ronika Chamali, Ajantha Shanthakumara, Kenneth Rohana, Ruvini Dilanthi, Madira Udishani,Thilini Umesha, Kumeratian Mahindran, Alagaraj Yashoprasad, Vimukthi Kiriella,Nipun Dilshan, Saminda Sanjeeva Kumara, Manoj Priyankara Madushanka, Nissansala Kumudu Kumari make the caste of the above plays.
Ronika Chamali is the choreographer and the assistant directress Music is by Sumudu Mallawarachchi and lighting by Amila Dinesh Kumara. Stage management is by Selvaraj Leelawathi and Sarath Banagala.
