An adivasi member joined the Sri Lanka Navy for the first time in history at a ceremony held in Boossa-Galle Navy Camp yesterday. The new navy personnal M. M. Wasantha Pradeep Jayawardena from Dambana, Mahiyangana, is the grandson of Prathapatha Warige Heen Bandadila Aththo. His parents, both farmers, are 54-year-old M. M. Jayawardena and 44-year-old Priyanka Kumari.
