Eagle Logistics marks 10 years of excellence
View(s):Eagle Logistics celebrated its 10th anniversary this week with religious activities at their corporate office 281, R. A. De Mel Mawatha, Colombo-03. In a media statement, Eagle Logistics said its roots date back to 2005 when its CEO Asanga Weerackody created the name of Eagle Logistics and with CL Synergy helping the back office operations. CL Synergy is the co-partner for Eagle Logistics Colombo since its inception. CL Synergy is an 11 year old freight company which has three more similar joint ventures in the industry.
Mr. Weerackody’s freight forwarding carrier goes back to 1991 at Pership Clearing and Forwarding as a marketing executive. In October 2005, after completing 14 years in the freight forwarding industry (Pership, John Keells and HTL Logistics), he had decided to venture out on his own.
In 2011, Eagle Logistics became the first freight company to be a member of Institute of Supply and Materials Management in Sri Lanka and today has over 120 staff at seven locations – Katunayake, Biyagama, Moratuwa, Homagama, Peliyagoda, Nugegoda and corporate office at Colombo 3 handling import export business for more than 300 customers.
