Second New Imperial Cinema goes 3D in Ratnapura
View(s):New Imperial Talkies developed its second cinema in Ratnapura into 3D and 2D Digital Cinema Projection System (2K) and opened for public screening on October 9 with the Sinhala film “Lantin Singno”, 3D film “Jurassic World” and “Puli” with air-conditioned environment.
This is the first movie theatre to install digital system in the Sabaragamuwa province.
“Similar to New Imperial Cinema, Kurunegala, this has installed the best Digital Projector “CHRISTIE” imported directly from United States with QSC Amplifiers and the Silver Screen for 3D and 2D facility,” a spokesman for the New Imperial Talkies said.
He said the management has decided to offer a mix of films of different languages for the audiences at different show times.
There are four regular shows daily for the convenience of the public who are coming to Ratnapura from afar and the new show times will be 10.30 am, 1.15pm, 4.00 pm and 7.00pm and there will be a special show at 9.30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the convenience of all cinema goers in and around Ratnapura.
