Brief encounter with nature and city sights
View(s):Cinnamon’s City Hotels – Cinnamon Grand Colombo, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo and Cinnamon Red – partnered with the wildlife and adventure tourism arm of Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, Nature Trails, launched their new city tour package ‘Colombo City Excursions’ last month.

The new package encompasses a variety of experiences in and around the city, including nature tours with bird watching at Thalangama lake and a cruise down the Kelani river; an architectural tour exploring Colombo’s prominent buildings and landmarks; religious and historic tours that will visit noted places of worship belonging to the island’s four main religions, and a hands-on experience of local food with the ammes at Nuga Gama along with discovering the ancient secrets of ayurveda medicine.
Aimed at corporate and city travellers in Colombo for a brief stay, tours are customisable according to travellers’ interests and needs.
For instance, customers may choose between three-wheelers, nano-cabs, cars, vans or bus (groups of more than 20) as mode of travel and Cinnamon will liaise with experts to accompany tours on request of travellers.
“As urban lifestyles change, even businessmen in their routine work can get stressed out,” said Head of Eco Tourism and Nature Trails, Chitral Jayatilake.
“Sometimes a few moments spent in the company of the natural world, places of religious worship, a museum, or in the presence of an interesting person can truly relax a stressed out mind.”
