Madushika establishes new record
Sampath Niroshan Appuhamy and E Thilina Chathuranga won the Over-20 and Under-20 ten kilometer walk of the 27th National Youth Festival held in Matara. Sandaruwan Dunukara and U.N.M. Deshapriya were runners-up.
Sunil Jayaweera flags off the walk
Kalhari Madushika won the Over-20 five-kilometre walk for women establishing a new games record of 25 minutes and 25.05 seconds while Thilini Madushani won the Under-20 age category. P.B. Gayani and Dilani Lakshika were runners-up in their respective age groups.
The 27th Youth Sports Festival was jointly organised by the National Youth Services Council, Sri Lanka Federation of Youth Clubs, State Ministry of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Policy Planning, Economic Affairs, Child, Youth and Cultural Affairs.
