Look out for Ashan and Nishan in the 3000 class
View(s):The final round of races of the CEAT-AMRC-SLARDAR Tarmac Championship will be held next weekend, on November 14 and 15, at the Pannala Racing Track, promising a thrilling finale to the keenly contested series of rounds.
Among the favourites to finish on top are top drivers Ashan Silva, who leads the Group SLGT Cars upto 3000cc and Nishan Wasalathanthri, who is on the top of the list in the SLS Cars upto 1500cc class. Others in the fray are Brayan Perera, who is tied with Chandima Gooneratne for Group SLF Formula McLarens 4 EFI 1300cc, Sumal Marco Warnakulasooriya in the Group SLF Formula McLarens Carburetor 1300cc, Susantha Gunawardena in the Group SLN Ford Laser/Mazda 1300cc, Pramuka Sesath de Silva in the Group M Standard/Modified Motorcycles Open Over 250cc and Suraj Perera in the Group SM Super Motard upto 450cc categories. However the final standings of the respective race classes could change on the outcome of the final round of the Tarmac Championship. The respective eight winners will be awarded the championship titles and trophies as the reward for their performances portrayed after all three meets.
The sponsors for this meet are CEAT Kelani International, Stafford Motors, Toyota Lanka and Lion Brewery. The organisers of the race are Asian Motor Racing Club and Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders.
