Adele’s ‘Hello’ is holding sway over all rivals on the UK singles chart as the song stays put at the No: 1 for a third consecutive week. ‘Hello’ is leading its nearest rival ‘Sorry’ by Justin Bieber by 34,000 copies. Meanwhile the BPI has certified ‘Hello’ with a Platinum disc.

The artist who attracted the next big attention is Fleur East. The 28 year old singer’s debut single ‘Sax’ debuted on the UK singles chart at No: 3.

Released a week ago the song which has an influence of ‘Uptown Funk’ is a Nu-Disco track with the genres of funk, hip hop and soul woven together.

Fleur was the runner up at the X-Factor 2014. She performed ‘Sax’ on the X-Factor show on 6th November. The song is also used as the backing song to ASDA supermarket’s Christmas TV promotion this year. ‘Sax’ is taken from East’s forthcoming album ‘Love, Sax and Flashbacks’ due out 4th December.

A newcomer to the music scene and to the chart to be precise is the group WSTRN. Their debut single ‘In2’ debuted on the chart at 85 and then took a big leap to 60.

All this based on the streaming results of ‘In2’. This week the easy going RnB/rap track which is radio friendly galloped to No: 4 inside the the top singles chart. The West London group was formed this year and comprises Akelle Charles, Haile and Louis Rei.

Elvis Presley died in 1977, but the late King of Rock n Roll who never performed in the UK has an army of followers who keep his music on the pop charts.

For a second week Presley’s new album ‘If I Can Dream’ backed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has been at the top of the UK albums chart.

It has sold a total of 167,656 copies. Also Elvis has topped the albums chart 38 years after his death and now has the most No:1 album by a male artist which is 12.

When Brian May of Queen received the Classic Rock N Roll of Honour’s Living Legend award on 11th November, he dedicated it to the late Freddie Mercury who led the band until his death in 1991.

May described Mercury as “incredible and irrepressible”. He also had praise for the current lead singer of Queen, Adam Lambert a former American Idol winner who was described as a “gift from God”.

The pop band the Vamps has announced the loss of two of their French team during the attack on the Bataclan Theatre on 13th November in Paris. Thomas Ayed and Marie Mosser were attending the Eagles of Death Metal concert.

Meanwhile an online campaign was activated on Facebook in order to take the Eagles of Death Metal cover version of Duran Duran’s ‘Save A Prayer’ to the top of the UK singles chart.

Fans were being encouraged either to download or buy the track. The move pays tribute to the band and those who lost their lives on 13th November in Paris. The Californian five piece band had a small but strong following until shooting incident.
