‘Raja Bojun’: Truly Sri Lankan
Raja Bojun’ authentic Sri Lankan restaurant is the latest addition to Colombo’s fast growing restaurant chain. Raja Bojun is generally known for traditional Sri Lankan cuisine.
Located on the fourth floor of Liberty Arcade, is authentically designed for Sri Lankan cuisine with nice, spacious room, with spaced out dining tables, a high ceiling, some modest plants, and giant Raja Bojun style flags flanking the little thatch roofed buffet.
This popular restaurant was originally located in the Seylan Tower at the Galle Road Kollupitiya close to Galle Face Green since 1999 and now moved to its permanent home at the top of the Liberty Arcade.
‘Raja Bojun’ are the pioneers in making truly Sri Lankan authentic dishes that suit the palate of food lovers in the country and around the world.
The restaurant caters the guests who would love to dine in serene environs with the feeling of ‘casual stress free out-doors dining within’.
The main course begins with a typical Sri Lankan fresh fruit juices at the juicy corner. A range of fresh salads follows, while guests can order hopper or grill at the action stations next to the main buffet spread.
You’ll dip in the appetising aroma of a variety of tantalising chicken, seafood and vegetables at t he staple meal. Each speck is hot, fresh and delicious as the course is accompanied by an array of mouth watering authentic dishes.
‘Our restaurant has two main segments, lunch and dinner. Most popular segment is lunch. We always serve authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, where no other restaurant would offer.
Polos curry, lotus yam, Jack Fruit, Mango and
Ambaralla curry, Sinhala Achcharu, lunu dehi are some of the popular dishes not only amongst Sri Lankan community but with foreigners, who visit the restaurant for Meals’ said Mishantha Masingha, the Director of the Raja Bojun.
Raja Bojun is a popular place for overseas groups for lunch and for dinner. Indian and sea food corner are two popular sections.
‘We have a Continental cuisine to suit visiting foreign clientele. Hopper section, grill, kottu and rotis are popular too during dinner time’ he added.
‘The restaurant is designed with a different concept; the guest won’t feel he is in a busy city centre. It of course apparently looks a country side heeler located amidst the busy city area’ Mishantha said.
The buffet at the lunch at Raja Bojun starts from the salad corner then extends towards three types of rice for the main meal and they include fried rice, steamed and country rice.
The main curries include fish, crab and chicken with 15 types of vegetable curries with a grill station, a hopper station, as well as 10 to 12 desserts with tea and coffee at the end of meal.
The dinner time entertainment also includes the playing of soothing music by a violinist, a pianist or a saxophonist every day.
‘Raja Bojun’ is a popular place for seminars and meetings.
