Rizny Ismail started his banking course over 20 years ago at Standard Chartered in the fields of retail banking, corporate banking and correspondent banking, looking for a challenging career to expand his future.

As product manager credit cards and personal loans he developed a wide range of experience. He was a member of the core team that launched the new Al Islamic credit card in 2006.

For further prospects he joined the Dubai Islamic Bank as Product Manager Cards and was responsible in launching the first Islamic credit card for Dubai Islamic Bank by putting in place all necessary procedures and manuals.

He was part of the team that conducted product training for retail banking staff across U.A.E., was part of the team that took the prestigious award for the best Islamic credit card given by the Banker Middle East in 2008.

He joined the Noor Islamic Bank as Product Head of Cards to develop the cards business strategy in terms of positioning the brand and in increasing market share.

He was able to provide leadership to the sales force across the branches.

He joined the Qatar Islamic Bank, at a very senior managerial position. He is Head of Cards, Business, Personal Banking group.

He feels he has justified his ambition in climbing the ladder having worked in senior positions in prestigious banks and now looks to share his wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of banking.

He was an active member of the Dehiwala – Mt. Lavinia Jaycees movement. He held the post of President in 1991 and Executive Vice President of the chapter, as well as Junior Chamber Sri Lanka.

He was awarded the Most- Out standing Jaycee, Best Treasurer and Best Motivator for 1991/’92/’93 respectively. He is an old boy of St. Aloysius College, Galle.

Rizny is the grandson of Dr. Cassaly Ismail, the first Muslim eye surgeon in Ceylon in 1928. His mother Zanuha was the first Muslim lady Justice of the Peace appointed in 1972 for the Southern province.

Rizny is the son of Zaunha and Fasi Ismail of Fort, Galle.
