George Soros’ team visits SL

View(s): A team from the office of famous capital market investor George Soros was in Sri Lanka earlier this month in a bid to explore the scope of the country’s investment climate and to assess the economic situation, sources close to Mr. Soros said. He is slated to attend the Sri Lanka Global Investment Forum sponsored by business and finance magazine Euromoney next month.
“A three member team met with the Board of Investment, Securities and Exchange Commission, the Central Bank and other state agencies. It was a ‘scoping (fact finding)’ visit,” an informed source told the Business times. He added that they were trying to get an insight insight to the complete economic situation in the
country.
