Half tons by Hashen Ramanayake, Maduranga Zoysa and Lisula Lakshan helped BRC make a formidable score of 365 against Kalutara TC on day one of the Emerging Trophy cricket encounter played at the BRC ground. Kalutara TC facing ten overs ended the day on 3 for 2.
An impressive bowling figure of 7 for 41 by right arm pacie Dinushka Malan laid the foundation for Navy SC to dominate proceedings on day one in the match against Moratuwa SC played at Welisara. Dinushka’s seven wicket haul saw Moratuwa SC batting first reeling to a score of just 90 runs. Later Sameera Sandamal and Amith Eranga steered the sailors with Amith putting on an unbroken 118 runs for the sixth wicket with Madura Madusanka for Navy SC to end the day in a strong position of 250 for 5.
Rumesh Rangana along with Sumudu Sameera and Tharindu Siriwardena helped Kalutara PCC to make a challenging score of 258 against Lankan CC who ended the day on 11 for no loss from two overs at the end of day one in the match played at the Surrey Village ground in Maggona.
A knock of 84 by Chanaka Withanage enabled Panadura SC to take a first innings lead against Air Force SC in the match played at the Panadura Esplanade. Panadura SC after bowling the Airmen for a score of 146 ended the day making 182 for 3 while Kurunegala YCC batting the whole of day one ended the day on 260 for 7 with Anuruddha Rajapakse making a top score of 84. The matches will be continued today.
