Niroshan cracks 137 as NCC amass 437/6
View(s):Left hand opening batsman Niroshan Dickwella cracked a 137 in 156 balls that included 14 boundaries and two sixes enabling NCC make a mammoth score of 437 for 6 against Badureliya SC in their Premier League cricket encounter played at NCC ground.
Niroshan was involved in two fruitful partnerships. First an opening-wicket stand of 71 with Upul Tharanga (38) and the other of 186 runs for the second wicket with Nimesha Gunasinghe who made 90 with 12 boundaries and a six. Later skipper Farveez Maharoof remained unbeaten on 67 and was associated in an unbroken stand of 70 runs for the seventh wicket with Isuru Udana.
A ton by T.N. Sampath and a 94 saw Galle CC end day one with a formidable score of 285 for 5 against Bloomfield in the match played at Reid Avenue. Andy Solomons was unfortunate to miss out on a ton when he made a quick fire 96 in only 57 balls inclusive of 11 boundaries and three sixes helping CCC batting first make a score of 263 against Saracens SC who ended the day on 33 for 3 in the match played at Panagoda.
Chilaw Marians ended day one on 37 for 2 in reply to Moors SC score of 201 in the match played at Braybrooke Place while Army SC were 240 for 7 against SSC played at the SSC ground.
Tamil Union dominated proceedings against SLPA CC when play stopped on day one in the match played at the Colts ground. The matches will be continued today.
