Guns N Roses to reunite in 2016?
View(s):Guns N Roses the 90’s hard rock band may be reuniting for 2016 after the group’s website restored the original logo.
Reports from the US suggest Axl Rose and Slash have made up as the group also updated the profile picture on their Facebook page with a crowd, perhaps hinting of a tour as well.
They wanted it and got it. The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir formed in 2012 had planned to release a mash up of Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ and Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ around October titled ‘A Bridge Over You’.
The idea behind the charity song is to help get the message to the public about the work of the NHS (National Health Service in the UK) and also boost its staff morale at a time when they are facing various issues and also take the No: 1 spot for Christmas.
The song backed by a heart warming video got an early lead over chart champion Justin Bieber’s No: 1 song at the time ‘Love Yourself’.
But after a few days later the Canadian singer’s hit took the lead until the NHS Choir’s song ‘A Bridge Over You’ won the lead by a narrow margin once again.
At this point on 24th December, Justin Bieber stepped in to appeal in a Tweet to his 72 million follows to buy the NHS charity song.
The leader of choir Dr. Harriet Nerva at first did not believe it was Bieber’s real appeal. As the last few days played out and the final count taken, ‘A Bridge Over You’ had a combined sale of 127,000 copies, a lead of 31,000 over Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’ and thus became the UK’s No: 1 song.
This is the Christmas No: 1 song for 2015.Proceeds from the sale of ‘A Bridge Over You’ will support selected charities including Carers UK and the mental health charity Mind. Bieber congratulated the NHS Choir saying “Amazing. This is what Christmas is about”.
Meanwhile Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’ may have been unseated from the No:1 spot, but it can still rebound and take command again. Bieber is singing his way on the UK chart having songs at positions No: 2, 3 and 6.
One Direction provided the second and only other new top 10 entry when their single ‘History’ advanced from 11 to No: 8.
The track which has that community feeling of clapping your hands as they sing along was performed by the group on the final results day of X-Factor 2015.
‘History’ is the third release from the album ‘Made In The A.M’ and the14th top 10 UK hit for the boy band. With this track 1D will be on a break as they claim for a short time.
Pop singer Kesha who is locked in a legal battle with her manager Dr. Luke is also trying to trying to break free from her record label contract.
But her label Sony won’t let her go and instead filed papers against the ‘Tik Tok’ hitmaker saying she could be the new Adele.
Ed Sheeran has recorded his hit song ‘Thinking Out Loud’ in Gaelic for a charity compilation album in the Irish language.
