As the countdown began for the New Year and the strains of Auld Lang Syne were heard, bursts of fireworks lit up the sky.

Our photographers Indika Handuwala,  M.D. Nissanka, Anuradha Bandara and Nilan Maligaspe, were at the Hilton Colombo, the Galadari, the Kingsbury, Galle Face Hotel, the Cinnamon Grand and Mount Lavinia Hotel and up in Kandy at Amaya Hills and the Grand Kandyan to capture the action.
