As the new Yahapalanaya Government celebrated the first anniversary of its election, the Attorney General’s Department and the Police took a major step in upholding the rule of law, arresting Government Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra yesterday on charges relating to an abduction of a young man. The 28-year-old MP was produced at the Hulftsdorp Magistrates court and seen coming out with a smile after she was given bail. Pic by Athula Devapriya
