EZY Racing to develop Sri Lankan racing car
View(s):EZY Motor Racing Corporation, an associate firm of longtime local computer hardware and software distributor EZY Holdings, is aiming to develop its own, Sri Lankan-made racing car. This is with the hope that this initiative could also lead to the introdution of a commercial motor vehicle one day, according to the racing company’s Race Director Farzan Najmudeen.
Further, there is a possibility that this commercial venture, if realised, could also encompass Pakistan and Bangladesh, based on information revealed in the body of a recently-run employment ad calling for applications for the post of EZ Racing’s Head of Marketing. However, Mr. Najmudeen was quick to point out the plans for any sort of commercial vehicle were still very far off.
EZY Motor Racing Corporation was formed in 2010 with plans to raise Rs. 100 million a year, by 2015, which was to be solicited from sponsorships, merchandise, etc. with the aim of putting together, and adequately funding, a winning team of drivers for local and international motor racing events.This venture has since then participated in the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC), since 2014 to be exact, with plans also made public to take part in the upcoming 2016 APRC races.
