The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has announced that an on-going initiative to make its branches island wide accessible to differently abled customers has passed the half way mark. The bank said it has completed the construction of wheel chair ramps at 130 branches, facilitating disabled access to customer areas and automated teller machines (ATMs) under this project, it said in a media release.

“We believe that the widest possible cross section of the community must have access to our branches, and hope to expedite the construction of ramps as the project progresses,” Commercial Bank’s Chief Operating Officer/Executive Director S. Renganathan said. The bank said it pays attention to the needs of all its customers including differently abled customers who are an important section of the bank’s clientele.
