Experience ‘live’ interiors at Hafele’s
View(s):Hafele launched a new design centre earlier this month at Nandana Gardens, Colombo 4. The centre will help customers choose ‘complete interior solutions’ from bath and kitchen fittings to wardrobes and sliding doors/partitions.
Catering to a market of high end buyers, Hafele assures customers of stringent quality control and long lasting products. The idea behind establishing design centres is Hafele’s belief that design concepts and ideas can be better understood when they are experienced in ‘live’ setups.
This also means that there are ‘live’ kitchens and bathrooms – which have running water and electricity for customers to get a better a feel of the product.
The standard, run of the mill fittings is not Hafele’s niche market. From wardrobes out of which you can pull out racks of clothes to movable plug sockets to a desk which can be pulled down to reveal a bed, the innovative products on offer can solve many issues of space and fit even the most specific requirements.
Hafele also offers personalised fittings so that homeowners can make the products fit the ideas which they have about the type of rooms they want to create.
Hafele originated from the Swabian region of Germany where two young men, Adolf Hafele and Hermann Funk, opened up a shop in 1923 which sold products for the hardware industry, with a special focus on catering to makers of furniture.
They moved their company to Nagold, which was the centre of furniture production in the area. What followed was years of hard work and dedication during which Adolf Hafele visited many factories in order to understand the furniture industry and better serve his
clients.
In 1964, Hafele founded its first foreign subsidy in Switzerland and from then on, the company kept growing. Although Hafele has risen to become one of the world’s leading hardware manufacturers in the world, the company still remains a family run business.
The Hafele design centre promises its customers the latest in hardware technology.
