Spa Ceylon opened shop on Galle Road last Tuesday unveiling the Royal Indulgence Store and Spa in regal style. Giving ancient ayurvedic secrets a modern touch, the brand’s indulgent products have been on shelves since May 2009.
Tying-in thematically with the luxury promised in each potful of product, the centre-piece for this premises is a resplendent studded throne.
The Palace Aroma Bar has an extensive range of exotically blended Ceylonese fragrances. These signature Spa Ceylon blends can be sampled and experienced with expert guidance to pick the aromas that enhance your own lifestyle and are available as candles, diffusers, burning oils and aroma incense.
Perfect as gifts, the Spa Ceylon range has themes to pick from: business corporate, tropical island, pampering romance, festive celebration, and wedding elegance etc.
Spa Ceylon’s new palace art inspired collection featuring royal art and colourful floral motifs from the ancient palaces of Ceylon, is featured in another dedicated area. This vibrant section comprises the pampering hand cream buffet and the great wall of balms.
Blending old world opulence muted by modern minimalism, the outlet was on the cards for a while said co-founder Shalin Balasuriya. Situated at No. 103 Colombo 3, it seemed an apt choice, the area being a prime tourist hub.
With 33 outlets both at home and abroad, 12 Spa Ceylon stores were opened last year. “We’re always looking for bigger locations,” Mr. Balasuriya adds.
In 2016 they have potentially 25 more locations to add to their list. Up to date however, the Royal Indulgence Store is their biggest at 6,000 sq. feet spread over two levels.
