Ellie Goulding escapes death in Norway
View(s):Pop singer Ellie Goulding has narrowly escaped death recently. The 29 year old British singer has now revealed that while driving a vehicle in Norway on a frozen lake the ice gave way and the all terrain vehicle crashed through in temperature on -25 degrees.
The ‘Love Me Like You Do’ hitmaker was accompanying photographer Conor McDonnell, who documenting Goulding’s current shows.
She and Mcdonnell escaped through the vehicle roof and then posted pictures on her Instagram page. The incident occurred on 16th January. Ellie Gouding began her Delirium World Tour on 21st January in Germany.
Rihanna took everyone by surprise by releasing her new album ‘ANTI’ on 27th January. The released came after the album was leaked online on the TIDAL service.
Since the release day did not conform to the new universally agreed day for music releases worldwide, which is Friday, her album ‘ANTI’ was made available for free downloading for a week on TIDAL and iTunes.
Rihanna also released her new single ‘Work’ on the same day. ‘ANTI’ is Rihanna’s eight albums. Meanwhile reports indicate TIDAL suffered a systems error causing ‘ANTI’ to leak online. The original release date was 29th January.
Shawn Mendes has consolidated his position on the UK singles chart with the song ‘Stitches’, by holding on the No: 1 spot for a second week.
‘Stitches’ has a comfortable lead of 13,000 copies combined ahead of its rival ‘Love Yourself’ by Justin Bieber. Also the song was leading the streaming battle of the week with over 3.51 million.
One big climber made its way to the UK top this week. The track is ‘Fast Car’ by Jonas Blue featuring the vocals of Dakota or Sophie Elton her real name.
The song which only debuted on the chart a fortnight ago at 61, took a huge leap to No: 3 this week. Jonas Blue a producer from the US has made a dance over version of Tracy Chapman’s classic ‘Fast Car’ from 1998.
At the time Chapman’s version only peaked at No:5 and then on a second return to the chart in 2011 peaked at 4. But Jonas Blue’s rendition has gone a notch better to be at 3.
The group Spandau Ballet will split up for the second time. The group members will go their separate ways at the conclusion of their world tour after farewell performances in London in April and May.
The group reunited in 2009 after 20 years. The band was formed in 1979 and comprised Tom Hadley, the brothers Gary and Martin Kemp with Jon Keeble. Their best known hit songs were ‘True’, ’Gold’, ’Only When You Leave’ and ‘Through The Barricades’.
Old rockers Status Quo will quit touring at the end of this year. Their European tour will begin in October and will end by December in the UK.
Formed in 1967 Status Quo have had a string of hits such as ‘Down Down’, ‘Rockin’ All Over The World’, ‘In The Army Now’, ‘The Anniversary Waltz’ and ‘Come You Reds’. The band will however play at the odd special live event.
