Golf of high quality witnessed at the Links
High class of Golf was witnessed in the recently concluded UTE-CAT and Pam Fernando handicap events played concurrently for the members, in the Bally’s Sri Lanka open 2015.
This year was outstanding with 66 ladies and men competing. The proud co-sponsor of the tournament was UTE-CAT, whose main priority is to take the game of golf to the next level in Sri Lanka.
They have been promoting the game of golf and sponsoring tournaments of significance for the past few years.
Prashan Peiris came from 9 strokes behind in the first round to clinch the UTE-CAT challenge trophy for the best aggregate gross score with a total of 165 on a better last card from Rohan Fernandez. And Anouk Chitty back in a tournament after a while won the Pam Fernando trophy for the best aggregate gross over two rounds for Ladies with a total of 162, 2 shots ahead of young Tania Balasuriya.
The President of the Golf Union, Nimal Piyaratne thanked the sponsors UTE-CAT, for the sponsorship of the handicap events for members as Co-Sponsors of Bally’s Sri Lanka Open and the title sponsors Bally’s Entertainment along with other sponsors Nissan X Trail and CML Walkers. Druki Martenstyn, Tirusha Jesudasan and Priath Fernando gave away the awards.The results as follows;
