Prabath’s match bag of 12 spins Colts to massive win
Left arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya ended with a match bag of 12 for 120 to guide Colts CC to a massive innings and 153 runs win over CCC with more than a day to spare in the Premier Super League Cricket encounter concluded at P. Sara Stadium yesterday.
The writing on the wall was there for CCC when play ended on day three as they had the daunting task of erasing a deficit of another 247 runs after having ended the third day’s play on 61 for 1 after being made to follow on.
CCC was unable to make any headway as they lost three quick wickets without any addition to their overnight score and slipped to 66 for 4. They never recovered from there on as they lost the remaining six wickets for the addition of only 93 runs.
The late order batting succumbed to Prabath who following his five wicket haul in the first inning ended with impressive figures of 7 for 56 to bundle them out for a paltry 155.
