Inland Revenue Department Employee Protest against Finance Ministry

Employees of the Inland Revenue Department staged a protest demonstration this week against the department’s attempt to outsource the collection of defaulted tax on the directions of the Finance Ministry. But Minister Ravi Karunanayake denied the claims as baseless stating that trade unions have been misled on tax collection measures.
